We had loads of space for the two of us, and the balcony barbecue got plenty of use. From there, we could watch the birds overhead and take in the incredible views. Shearwater also felt very private, we never saw another guest. Some decor may be a little dated, but this is Norfolk Island, not Paris!

The villas are spacious, and the staff were lovely, always happy to help. It’s a great spot if you want a quiet setting away from town, with excellent ocean views.

Steve and Debbie met us at the airport and were always on hand if we needed anything. Our self-contained villa had everything we needed. We were far enough from the commercial centre to enjoy the island’s beauty, with wonderful water views toward the old convict ruins and glorious sunrises each morning. We thought it was simply the best location on Norfolk Island. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We’ll be back. Lindsay and Christine.

Kerry and Allan were friendly and shared lots of useful information about the island. We stayed in one-bedroom villa number 5, which was spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained, with everything we needed. The views from inside and from the balcony were outstanding. We’d highly recommend staying here when visiting Norfolk Island.

Richard and Jennifer were great hosts, friendly and helpful whenever we had a request. The buildings are older, but the quality was fine, and the villas had plenty of room and all the modern features and facilities. It’s away from Norfolk’s busy areas, with superb views. Shearwater made our stay on this very special island a pleasure. I’ll be back.
