There are heaps of ways to sit here, from indoors and near the pub to outside by the well-kept gardens or in the amphitheatre. You can even shoot hoops when the rings are free. Food was terrific too. The fish and chips were great, and I loved how perfectly the cheese was cooked on the parmigiana. The parmigiana itself was amazing. Honestly, one of my favourite venues in Perth.

You could easily spend the whole day here with family, taking in the bush canopy views, listening to birds and having good food. This pub has so much history, and it's huge, with interesting details everywhere. The design and build have a quality you just don't see anymore, and the attention to detail is incredible. Honestly, it blew me away. Probably the nicest venue in WA. I'll have to bring the lads for a full day to relax, have a few drinks and take it all in.

I gave two stars for the location. The building really is something to see, but lunch was a letdown. We went early, and I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger. The chicken was hard and dark, like leftover tenders from the day before that had been refried. The slaw was dry, with no mayo, and spilled out as soon as I picked up the burger. We spent $120 on lunch and won't return because of what felt like an underhand attitude toward new customers. My family's meals seemed okay. Sun 1/2/2026.

It's a big place for entertainment and bands, and some great bands play there. The original Victorian building has modern additions for accommodation. Just be aware it could get noisy if a band is on the night you stay.

We loved our couple of nights here, including learning about the place's history. The rooms are nice and the food is great, so we'll be back soon. If you're into history, I'd recommend a visit.
