Cove Quarters

The location was convenient for both town and the beach, and the room had aircon, a fridge, and a TV. There was also a pool and sauna. But the pool had leaves in it, its chairs were mouldy and breaking, and there was mould on the floor and around the pool. Inside, the bathroom had mould on the walls and ceiling, and you could smell it. There was no ventilation or fan in the room. The walls were very thin, so we heard a lot from outside and from neighbouring rooms. One evening a maintenance worker came to blow leaves at 5pm. The beds and pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. They also said room and towel cleaning was only available for stays of 10 days or longer.

Management were friendly and approachable, and helped with everything we needed. Cove was beautiful and very clean, with a gorgeous pool and a sauna we loved using. Town was a five to ten minute walk, and the beach just a few minutes away. We'd absolutely stay again.

The door wouldn't close properly, so I wasn't sure it was securely locked. The thin walls also meant I could hear everything from nearby rooms, which made it hard to relax. I arrived at 10am and the cleaners told me my room was ready, but even though the host had said they'd keep me updated, I couldn't get in until 3:15pm after messaging several times. I was willing to pay extra for early access, but there was no flexibility. The Cove was a disappointing stay.

The rooms and beds were very average for the price, and housekeeping and hospitality were practically nonexistent. You're on top of strangers in the adjoining rooms and can hear every move they make. It might suit a large family or friend group booking the whole place. Otherwise, it feels like they take your money and leave you alone. I won't be back.
