Gosamara Apartments Byron Bay

The staff were so friendly and accommodating with our family and little one. We had a lovely apartment.

Our two-bedroom apartment was a great size, with everything we needed and an outdoor sitting area. The pool was small but clean, well looked after and a perfect temperature. The managers were friendly, too. It’s a great spot in Byron, walking distance to town and the beach. The road is busy, though we didn’t notice any noise.

Each apartment feels private and has its own outdoor balcony, with lots of storage and a fully equipped kitchen. Starter amenities are supplied, and beach towels are available. There’s a dated pool and spa, but the setting is tropical and the apartments are comfortable despite their older style. Main Beach and the shops are about a 500m walk away. Reception hours are limited, though picking up the keys and getting into the garage with a code is easy. Good value, I’d give it 3.8 stars.

The apartment was spacious and close to the CBD, and for Byron, where prices seemed generally higher, I still thought it was decent value. But we’ve had better stays for a similar price on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. The hot water pool worked on the first day and then stopped, which was disappointing because we’d hoped to use it again. The bathroom light needed several tries to come on, and the bedroom door jammed when closed, which scared me because I thought we were locked in. The pool looked much smaller than in the photos, and the yard was completely dark at night. I also didn’t like having to take the rubbish out to the bin outside. I’ve never had to do that at another hotel.
