Wake Up! Byron Bay - Hostel

Manouk, Jonathan, Anne, Michael, and Tom made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, going the extra mile and creating a great atmosphere throughout the hostel. I had an amazing stay at Wake Up Hostel Byron Bay. It’s clean, has a great vibe, and is an ideal place to meet other travelers. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone visiting Byron Bay.

Getting into town was easy with the free shuttle, though it’s only around a 20-minute walk or jog if you’d rather go on foot. Wake Up! Byron Bay felt clean, social, and well organized. I was impressed by the relaxed atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. There’s direct access to the beach and a cute pool area, along with free yoga, Pilates, and a running club. The kitchen was kept clean and regularly looked after by staff, and you can rent bikes for $4 an hour. Definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in across Australia.

I booked a shared room for two nights, and it was roomy, with the beds spaced well so it felt comfortable. The beach is just a five-minute walk away, and there’s a free shuttle bus that makes getting into town easy. The staff were incredibly kind. I’d happily stay again.

The kitchen was one of the best I’ve come across in a hostel, with good cooking gear, clean surfaces, and an open layout. The hostel has a pool, sauna, and ice bath, so it almost feels like a hotel. It’s a nice place to hang out for a while, though a bit far from the city. There’s a frequent shuttle from the hostel, and the beach volleyball court right out front is another plus.
