The Abbott Boutique Hotel

A comfortable room in a very central spot, with a supermarket only a few doors away. There’s a pleasant lounge with free coffee, tea and bottled water. Wi-Fi was my only small gripe: it got very slow sometimes, though it worked fine most of the time. A neat little hotel and great value.

The hotel was well maintained, and the spacious rooms had a modern look. We got our room early even though we arrived ahead of schedule, and the staff were very helpful. Shops, boutiques and restaurants are close by. Free laundry was handy, and the lounge has complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits. There are free movies on demand as well. I’d happily recommend it.

Our room faced another building, so there wasn’t much of a view, but it was wonderfully quiet. We couldn’t hear traffic, just the relaxing sound of rain. The room and hotel were very clean, and the other staff we met were friendly too. We arrived at 9 a.m. and understood the room wasn’t ready yet. The receptionist was super friendly and went out of his way to get us checked in early. It was ready around 11, and he messaged us so we could come back. Really kind of him. There’s an Nespresso machine in the lobby for coffee all day, and it always looked spotless. We also got one water bottle a day, and could use the washer and dryer for free. Detergent was already loaded, so no need to worry about it.

We were there for two nights with the family. The rooms were roomy, comfortable and, above all, very clean. The location worked well, close to the Aquarium and the terminal for reef tours. There’s a lounge open 24/7 with a real Nespresso coffee machine, biscuits and water. Matteo and Aurora were lovely and helpful. If we come back to Cairns, we’ll definitely stay here again.
