The location is great, easy to find, and there’s secure undercover parking. It’s quiet despite being in the city, and a short walk from the Esplanade, eateries, shopping centres and bottle shop 😂. Staff were friendly. The living space was comfortable, with a handy office area, king-sized bed, and TVs in both the bedroom and living room. The washing machine and dryer were great to have, and the pool area was good. Cleanliness was 8 out of 10, with the living room carpet bringing the score down. The kitchen is dated and could use a freshen-up. I understand the rooms are probably privately owned and it can be hard to get owners to agree on updates, but the mixer tap in ours leaked badly and needs replacing. The kitchen could also use more commonly used things like a potato masher, sharp knife and ice trays.

The room at IL Centro Apartment Hotel was much nicer than the outside of the building suggested, and the downtown location made it easy to get to most places. My room was very nice, though. The owner or manager came across as rude and intrusive at first, and I wasn't sure someone with that attitude and lack of professionalism should be running the place. Fortunately, I barely saw him during my stay. I'd rate the rooms 4, service 1, and location 4.

The bathroom had a modern feel, while the kitchen seemed dated. It could have been cleaner, and I wish the apartment had been vacuumed more often during my stay. The location was great.

We arrived around 1 in the afternoon on Tuesday and the friendly person at the office showed me straight to the room, before the usual check-in time. The apartment at Ill Centro Apartments, Cairns was very clean and carefully looked after, even if it wasn't modern. It had lots of room for two adults, and a couple of kids could fit comfortably too. The bed was clean and comfortable. I was really pleased with the stay and the price, and would come back if I needed somewhere in Cairns again. We stayed until Friday.
