Nightcap at Balaclava Hotel

I got there around 9pm, and the manager was really helpful. If you arrive while the restaurant is still open, you get 10% off a meal. There’s also a free drink ticket you can use at the bar or restaurant.

The room was clean and tidy, and reception staff were very helpful. They were only a phone call away even after working hours. It’s about a 10-12 minute drive to the city centre. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you, and all the best! :)

I’ve stayed at a few Nightcaps around the country, and they’re good value, with some of the comfiest beds. This one had an easy check-in, plenty of parking, and a modern room that was clean enough. The problem was room 4’s very strong, stale, milky smell. I couldn’t get used to it. I tried burning a candle and leaving the door open, but neither helped. It didn’t spoil my stay enough to ask for another room, though it was quite pungent. Maybe something like old vomit in the carpet.

The staff were wonderful, and the meals were nice, with cold drinks and a pleasant atmosphere. Our friend only eats gluten-free, and they did everything they could to help her with a lovely dinner. The boys enjoyed their fish and chips too. We stopped at the Balaclava for a quick tea on our way back up to the Tablelands. It wasn’t very busy, though we arrived at about 8.30pm.
