Oaks Cairns Hotel

The location was probably the best part, right in the middle of everything in Cairns. The room was lovely, with a great bed and nice linens, and the people were friendly and professional. We only stayed two nights, so the fact that rooms aren’t automatically cleaned every day didn’t really matter to us. You can ask for anything you need, and the less frequent cleaning is pretty good from a sustainability point of view.

Nita and Jamie at reception were so welcoming and accommodating. Customer service at its best. The rooms were spacious, modern, well equipped, and had great facilities with exceptional attention to detail. The location is excellent for the Lagoon, Merlin Marina, tours, shops, and bars. The team at the well appointed Oaks & Vines Rooftop Bar served an excellent breakfast and evening meals, with fab views. The only downside was Cairns’ infamous heat and humidity.

For five days and four nights, this was brilliant. The staff were all kind and helpful, and the rooms were clean, nice, and affordable. Everything we wanted to visit was within walking distance, since the hotel is right by the esplanade. The walls did an excellent job of blocking noise, so it was peaceful inside. I also loved the free coffee pods and movies on the TV. One of the best cheaper options around if you want somewhere that still feels a bit luxurious. My whole stay was great, and I’d highly recommend it.

The rooftop restaurant had a stunning view and some very different breakfast choices. Our room was spotless, including the bathroom, with good toiletries and a comfortable bed. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Our travel company, discover Australia, booked us a room without any service and didn’t tell us. I’d never come across that before.
