I paid $140AUD for one night in squalor. We booked a room but were put in a different pet friendly studio without being told beforehand. It was infested with large cockroaches, so we slept with the lights on to keep them away. The bathroom cupboard and areas around the ceiling fixtures stank of mould, and the blankets smelled like dog. There was no fire alarm, and the room was very dated and in disrepair. I called after hours twice and got no help. I was told the night staff would come or call back, but neither happened. After I complained, the hotel said the manager wouldn’t let us stay another night in the room we had originally booked and paid for because they’d lose money on cleaning and electricity. Their best offer was $10 off if we booked another night at full price. I never saw or heard from management. Would not recommend.

We had a lovely weekend in room 103 on the ground floor. The room was big, with a courtyard, a comfy bed, cold AC and hot water. It could use some TLC, but it isn’t advertised as five-star. For a BEACHFRONT place, it was super value for money, and the staff were amazing. I’d definitely stay again.

We’re definitely coming back and telling our friends. The beach view was amazing, and the rooftop pool was just perfect, with lots of space to relax and swim. Our room was clean and fresh, with a big, spacious bed. The owners were really friendly, welcoming and genuine. Such an amazing boutique hotel. ❤️

Palm Cove itself was amazing, but the accommodation was a disappointment. There were stains on the pillowcases, and the pillows were thin and lumpy. We also found cockroaches in the room, and the milk was past its date, with solid bits in my cup. The floor wasn’t level, so the head of the bed sat lower than the back. At the rear, there were huge holes in the roof overhang by the rooms. The site was clearly under construction, yet the back rooms were being advertised without accurate interior photos, so I expected more for my money. The bathroom windows didn’t lock, making it easy for someone to break in, and there was very little parking at the back despite the number of rooms.

Finding the place was a nightmare because the directions were poor and the phone kept hanging up on us. Once we got there, the owner or manager wanted a physical confrontation in the car park. That was enough for us, so we got back in the car and left. Several emails asking for a refund have been ignored. DO NOT STAY HERE!!
