Founders Lane Apartments by Urban Rest

The rest of the apartment was great, but the beds didn’t work for our family. We’d booked a two-bedroom place listed with a queen and two singles, then arrived to find a queen and a double. Our children didn’t want to share. Urban rest told us the room details were general and there weren’t any other options. That was really frustrating.

It’s day one of a six-day stay and I already regret booking here. I’m travelling alone in a city I don’t know, and this has felt incredibly unsafe. After more than an hour and a half, someone on the phone said he’d have to drive 20 minutes to bring me a key card. I’ve emailed my feedback too, but that’s gone unanswered. The code they sent let me into the building, but not the lifts. I spent 1.5 hours going back and forth on the phone. There was no cell reception inside, so at 8pm I had to keep going outside in the rain and 7-degree weather just to call. I won’t be back.

Two car parks and a way to get into the room without keys made morning runs easy. The location’s handy for dinners, and the kitchen had enough for simple meals, including an induction cooktop, decent pots and pans, and sharp knives. The cookware wasn’t the usual warped hotel stuff. It was modern and nice, though cleanliness was a little off.

The room cleanliness was definitely questionable. Location and phone service from the representatives were fine.
