Towac Valley Cabins

A great place to get away from the rat race for a few days. The little cabins are quaint, with beautiful countryside views, and it’s only a few minutes’ walk to one of Orange's best rustic Italian restaurants. Clean and tidy, too, with a seriously comfy bed. Highly recommend.

The country cabin is adorable and homely, and it’s well heated and insulated. The owner had left essentials like milk and bread, which made our first day much easier and meant we didn’t have to worry about them. It’s out of town, but not so far that driving in for dinner is unreasonable.

We were so impressed with Orange that we’ve booked another visit in a few weeks. The accommodation was clean, modern and had everything we needed, with complimentary food supplies as a nice extra. The bed was very comfortable, and the views were gorgeous to wake up to. We liked being out of town, where our little oasis on the hill had lavender, horses and cows in the surrounding paddocks. Wineries are close by, town is a short drive away, and the lake is nearby too, so pack your swimmers and a picnic. Mt Canabolas is also a short drive away and has spectacular sunset views. The accommodation was neat and clean, and the evenings were quiet and beautiful, but there was nothing special about the stay for us. The views were ordinary, and there were continuous gunshots, scare shots used to chase birds and animals from the orchards. It might have been nicer somewhere else, and could be an option in winter. Unfortunately, we had to evacuate because of an out-of-control bushfire. The owner agreed to refund one night's rate. Lovely people.
