Alison and Graeme were kind and helpful, and I’ll definitely come back. The guest house is motorcycle friendly, right in picturesque old Canowindra, with off street parking at the rear. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. There’s a full bar in the comfortable lounge too. Highly recommended.

We’d stay here again now that we know what to expect. It’s a heritage building with a distinct, basic old world charm, and you need an open mind about its eccentricities. Though the accommodation choices around here are slim, we felt $150 a night was about $25 too much. The restaurant wasn’t operating, which disappointed us since we’d looked forward to it when booking. Breakfast was continental and basic, with the usual items. Alison was very nice on the phone. The front looked closed when we arrived, but she explained that the BnB was open and could only be entered from the back. Our priorities were cleanliness and safety, and we found both. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good hot water.

We nearly cancelled because of a head cold and being so close to home, but we’d booked, so we went ahead. Alison greeted us warmly and upgraded us to the king bed suite, which we were very pleased with. As the only guests in the 160 year old pub, having the whole building to ourselves felt special. What a wonderful old place, and thank you for the friendly service and hospitality.

The old building has plenty of charm, and after enjoying the country scenery on the drive from Sydney, we arrived to a warm fire and beer. The amenities were clean, the shower was hot, and the rooms had air conditioning. A basic breakfast was provided.
