A great base for exploring the Daintree, with excellent tours nearby. Don't miss the night walk. The pool is huge and refreshing, and the upper levels are lovely for relaxing and looking out over the rainforest canopy. Downstairs, the space is bright and roomy, with a big comfortable main bed and a large bathroom. We went in the off-season, so there weren't many staff around, but the place suits a self-sufficient stay. The outdoor kitchen is well equipped and fun. Everything is simple, clean, neat, and done well. I'd love to return when the restaurant is open, as it sounds great. Highly recommend Ferntree.

We took the night walk tour from Ferntree and highly recommend it. There are lots of boardwalks nearby, as well as the beach and food options. The self-check-in went smoothly during the rainy season, and we had a very pleasant chat with one of the workers as we were leaving. Everyone was friendly. The place is quiet, comfortable, and clean, with the rainforest all around you, so keep that in mind.

We did the guided night hike, and it was amazing and informative. Communication was excellent, and the rooms were clean and tidy. It was the rainy season, so things were quiet, hot, and humid. The restaurant was closed, but we could make meals in the outdoor kitchen.

The night walk was absolutely fascinating, and Kane knew so much. Book 1-2 days ahead, as it can fill up. Ferntree is within walking distance of everything in Cape Tribulation and the bus to Cairns. The restaurant was pretty good for remote Australia, and I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet.

The wildlife and quiet setting were lovely. They don't use pest control because they want to avoid affecting the environment, so there are bugs around. The outdoor kitchenette was unusual, but it made up for not having a microwave.
