PKs Jungle Village - Hostel

Myall beach is pretty and just a short walk away. The hotel has a good bar and restaurant area to relax in. There aren't many places nearby, but there's a cute cafe/bar just across the road and a small grocery store next door. The store doesn't have much stock, though what it does have is enough.

This was the worst money I've ever spent. The place was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time. There was a decaying lizard, dirty toilets, spiderwebs all over the showers, and a flooded floor. The kitchen was filthy too, and clearly untouched. Mold had started growing on the unwashed dishes. I complained, and they removed the dead lizard, but everything else stayed disgusting.

The shared kitchen was filthy, and the whole property felt neglected and badly dirty. My room had bed bugs, spiders, and swarms of mosquitoes, so I couldn't feel safe or comfortable there. The staff were rude, unpleasant, and seemed completely uninterested in guests or the hostel's condition. From arrival to departure, it was a nightmare. I've never stayed somewhere this awful. Save your money and your health and stay somewhere else in Cape Tribulation. I can't recommend it to anyone.

We left as soon as we saw the room because the mould smell and unsanitary conditions were so bad. It was overpowering, the first thing you noticed on entering, and felt like a real health hazard. We were offered an upgrade, but after looking at it, we turned it down because the nicer room had the same problem. We found somewhere else nearby in Cape Tribulation with no mould smell. A health inspector would have plenty to look at here.
