I had fish and chips, a seafood basket with even crumbed crab legs, plus a Coke and an Orchey drink, and it all came to just $41. The food was absolutely delicious. Hardly anyone seems to know about the pub, since everyone goes to the fuel station. It’s tucked down a side road and feels like a real gem, though it’s changed hands and lost some of its appeal.

Loved the feel of this place and would stop in again. We parked our van overnight in the quiet area behind the pub, with toilets and showers available 24 hours. It’s a friendly country pub, and the food was good. Since you’re staying at a free camp, it feels fair to spend a bit of money on a meal.

The grassy camping area has pretty views over the sugar cane fields and plenty of room. We had a good dinner at the pub, with generous portions and friendly staff. Raffle night was especially entertaining, the most fun we’ve had in a while. We stayed overnight in our van and slept really well. It was also the first pub camp we’ve stayed at with toilets and showers open 24/7.

The woman who runs the bar and motel was so welcoming and really went out of her way to help. The bar food was delicious too. Carmila Motel is a great deal, with affordable rates and rooms that have what you need, including air conditioning, charging plugs and a comfortable bed. The battered reef fish was yummy, and the staff were friendly. There’s a nice grassy area behind the pub, with a playground nearby. The caravan camp back there is free, but a meal for two adults was over $65. The menu is limited, with simple pub meals mostly costing at least $32. A six-pack of cider was $40, wow.
