There’s a deep hole with concrete sides out the back, so be very careful if you’ve got kids with you. The house itself is beautiful and comfortably fits 12, with great beds, pillows and facilities. We did run short on basics: no spare rubbish bags, nothing to wipe the tables or benches, and barely enough toilet paper across the three toilets. A few inexpensive extras from the host would have made a real difference.

Donna, the manager, was always checking that everything was in order and was so accommodating. We had a wonderful stay at Corvah House, and liked its location beside a huge animal welfare op shop, with several other lovely houses available in a row. We booked two of those as well. We were a group of 10 adults staying 10th - 12th October 2025. On arrival the place looked stunning, with the lights, bedside lamps and heating already on to greet us. Every room was spotless. The big back deck had a wisteria that was beautiful and smelled exquisite, plus a Beale piano that we put to good use. The garden was lovely to wander around, parking was ample at the front and around back, and there’s an inground pool for warmer weather. With a Falcon cooker and a fantastic BBQ on the huge deck, we had little reason to go out for dinner. The only thing missing was a butler. A small tip for the door lock: lay your hand flat over it to light the code screen, rather than just shielding it as I did at first. We’d love to return to Corvah House and its gorgeous olde worlde feel. Thank you, Donna.

Corvah House worked really well as a base for our company's two-day off-site planning session. The facilities were fantastic, and we were surprised by the gourmet BBQ, outdoor deck and dining table. I’d recommend staying there and using it as a base to explore Castlemaine.

The kitchen was well equipped for our group of ten, with dining tables inside and out on the deck. There’s also a large swimming pool and extensive garden. Central Castlemaine is an easy five-minute walk away. Highly recommended.

We had no complaints at all. Corvah House was a lovely place to stay, tastefully and stylishly furnished. It was warm and cosy in winter, and the outdoor barbecue area and pool would be great in summer.
