A relaxed, affordable spot for a getaway, with the essentials and shops within walking distance. You can park right outside the cabins. A different sort of stay, and if you’re looking for a deal, Peter might be the person to ask.

A handy, low-cost stop for anyone about to cross the Nullarbor or coming back from it. The park is easy to reach from the main road into Ceduna, and it’s reasonably quiet with no road noise. A powered site with water costs $22 a night, with a small discount for longer stays. The caravan and cabin park also has unpowered sites with water. Parking is on flat gravel or dirt, with some shade and a few grassy patches. There’s a toilet, kitchen and laundry block, plus a rainwater tank for drinking. Mobile reception is good and TV reception is fair.

We only stayed because the town was fully booked the week before Christmas. The buildings are badly run down, and a mouldy smell from the plumbing made the room feel unhealthy. Cooking options were just a small microwave and an old, unattractive two-burner hob, and the microwave hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. I wouldn’t stay again.

The cabin was clean and comfortable, close to town, and very reasonably priced. After a long drive, it was a relief to arrive and find the heater already on. The hosts were warm and welcoming, so we ended up adding two more nights. A playground for kids would be a nice addition.
