The food came out quickly, with good portions and nice flavour. The menu sticks to the classics, so choosing is easy without too many complicated options. Staff were friendly and treated us like regular locals, even though it was my first time there. They were patient and kind with my 2yo and 4yo nephews and brought their food out first, a lost art. The aircon was a much-needed escape from the 40C heat. We watched young fellas stop at the door for a minute to soak up the cool before heading on.

We called in for dinner while travelling through from Mount Isa. I ordered the 250 gram rump steak with chips n salad, medium. It was the best medium steak I've had in a very long time. Perfection! Highly recommend.

We were in town for a school celebration and wanted somewhere quiet to catch up over a meal with old school friends. The Commercial Bistro bar was just right. Staff were friendly and accommodated our requests, and all five meals were cooked to perfection. My steak was nicely seared outside, yet medium and tender. Bar service was on point too. We had so much to catch up on that we were the last to leave, but nobody made us feel we had to go. Thanks for adding such an enjoyable meal to a wonderful walk down Memory Lane.

We didn't stay here, just came for a great dinner with family. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. There was plenty of food, and everyone ate the lot. Great tucker, cold beer. What else could you ask for?
