Mortimer's Lodge, Chiltern

The warm lights and charm were the first things we noticed when we arrived at dusk. Mortimers Lodge was incredible, with historic touches alongside modern finishes. Merv and Trace have thoughtfully put the home together, and it had everything we needed for a cosy stay. We were blown away and will absolutely be back!

We booked Mortimers Lodge for our wedding accommodation in October, and Merv and Tracey helped us arrange exactly what we needed. They were quick to communicate, eager to make things stress free, and full of useful information about Chiltern and the surrounding areas. The house is beautifully renovated and presented, with a welcoming, tastefully modern interior and gorgeous, relaxing gardens. We’re very grateful for everything Merv and Tracey did. Our stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Chiltern area.

Merv and Tracey are friendly and great at keeping in touch. Mortimer’s lodge has plenty of space and comforts, while still feeling full of rustic charm. Chiltern is just right for a couple of days slowing down and soaking up the atmosphere of an old country town. It’s more than a place to stay, it’s a lovely experience. Easy 5/5.

We had a great time at Mortimer’s Lodge. Chiltern locals were so friendly, nearly everyone we met stopped to say hi and chat. The house blends tasteful modern touches with an old world feel, and Australian Pickers would have a field day with the decor. There’s a short walk to IGA for groceries, plus some good places to eat in town. We also got bakery vouchers as part of our stay. Google Home was easy to use, and we loved the different outdoor seating spots and the pretty lights in the evening. Lighting the fire, then sitting with wine in front of the TV, was a lovely way to unwind. It’s a great place to switch off, and without the modern amenities you’d feel transported back in time. Highly recommend. PS. Say hi to Mille, the neighbour’s dog. She greets you with a wagging tail and a teddy in her mouth.
