Clare Central

The room was roomy and had everything we needed. It was cosy and nice, the shower had good pressure, and the bed was comfortable.

The room was clean, but the TV is ancient and has only a few channels, with no apps. There was no milk or biscuits, and just one shampoo and one body wash for three people. The note asking us to wash dishes felt like a threat of an extra charge, but there's no kitchen sink to use. The bathroom basin is the only option, and it's not practical for filling the kettle or washing wine glasses.

It's easy to walk to Clare's facilities, and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful too. But traffic noise carried into the room all night. If you're a light sleeper or easily distracted by noise, it can make it hard to fall asleep or wake you up easily.

The rooms were big, and some had sinks, but the facilities varied. One room had a stovetop and the other didn't. The second room only had a bathroom basin for washing dishes, even though signs say you can be charged if you don't wash them. The book said rooms were serviced daily, but during my two-week stay it happened only once a week. Automatic check-in worked fine, though my friend found the front desk abrupt. I've stayed in worse places, but it wasn't welcoming. This was the first time our company used the hotel. After I posted the review, they called me to complain about it. Stay if you like, as I said, it wasn't that bad. But expect to be harassed if you leave a review. I don't know why they're making this such a big deal, or why they're saying we didn't use the hotel.
