Banjo Paterson Motor Inn

The room was modern, spotless, and very affordable. Breakfast was the snag: it had to be ordered by 5 pm the day before, which didn’t work for us arriving later. Since we’d already told them our arrival time, they should have let us know breakfast wouldn’t be available.

I was out of there by 6 after a shower. The bed was so uncomfortable I barely slept, and the aircon barely cooled the room even set to 16. There was only one roll of toilet paper available, with the other locked away. I’d been looking forward to a swim, but the cloudy pool had leaves and dirt in it. Breakfast was a cereal packet and a piece of toast, which didn’t feel like a proper breakfast. Wouldn’t recommend it.

The room at the Banjo Paterson motel was simple but clean and comfortable, and the reception staff were welcoming. Breakfast was basic too, with two slices of previously frozen white bread, little sachets of butter, honey, vegemite and peanut paste, plus cereal. The booking and charge were a shock. I thought I’d booked directly with the motel online, but later found out they don’t take online bookings themselves. The third party was 'Guestreservations.com'. I was quoted $127.00 as a late-day special, then charged $190.00. Book with the motel by phone.

A good place to stop. The room was quiet and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was terrific. They supplied everything we needed. I’ll stay here again.
