Banana Coast Caravan Park

We’re just stopping in one of the deluxe cabins for the night on our way to Sydney. It’s clean and tidy inside, even if the cabin looks a bit worn. There’s a nice pool, a kids’ play area and a BBQ spot, and they’ll take well-behaved dogs if you mention it when booking. The woman at reception was friendly and chatty, though I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. It’s not fancy, but they’re not charging a fortune either. No complaints from me, and I’d recommend it.

The park closes at 5 PM, so keep that in mind. We found it peaceful and well organised, with clean, thoughtfully laid out amenities and welcoming staff who were always ready to help. The children had fun, and it’s handy for exploring places around the area, including Byron Bay. A pleasant, easy stop for families or couples.

The room was clean, and after I complained they refunded us for one night, which seemed fair. But I booked because the children’s play area was advertised, and nobody told us it would be closed for maintenance. There was no website update, and I couldn’t see any work happening. I have two children under three, and my little boy was devastated when he saw the playground. I would’ve tried to get our money back and go somewhere with the facilities they advertised. Our TV didn’t work, and the doors were off their hinges, so my son nearly went flying through the sliding door. A few things really need fixing.

We were comfortable, and having a kitchen was handy. It’s not fancy, but there wasn’t anything wrong with the place. We had no Wi-Fi while we were there; they said it was because of the storm. If you need a connection, be aware it might be unreliable. I don’t know if that was a local problem or something with the caravan park.
