Dunes Holiday Apartments Unit 1

For the price, it is what it is. I was a little unsure about the cleanliness when we arrived and saw the previous guests' food still in the fridge, haha.

The only thing missing was milk for coffee after a long drive. Otherwise, it's a great place near the beach, with a pool you can reach from the front veranda. Parking is close by too, so you don't have to carry your bags far.

The room was filthy, and the fans' batteries were all flat. We also couldn't use the back door because there was no key, which was a serious safety issue and a terrible fire hazard. It took two days and about 100 phone calls to get a key, and by then we were leaving in less than 12 hours. Getting the room key in the first place was a nightmare. I was emailed an address and sent on a wild goose chase, only to find the key in a lockbox outside the room. After about six calls and being put on hold, I got a code that didn't match either of the two I'd been emailed. The emergency phone number the owners give you by email is a joke. Nobody answers. This was the most disorganised, horrible place I've ever stayed. Never again!

The mattress was hard as a rock, and for $270 a night I was disappointed there was no tea, coffee, or sugar. We had an apartment with a pool, BBQ area, toilet and shower block, and tennis courts. They also extended our checkout by an hour and a half because of unforeseen circumstances.
