Families, please be aware. You’re basically right next to the pub, so good luck getting sleep. I was charged $370 a night for what felt like a shoebox, and if I’d seen it before arriving I’d have rather slept in my car than pay that again. The pool and spa in the photos don’t exist, either. Do yourself a favour and don’t come here.

The hostel itself wasn’t the best, and it got a little loud, but the people and the vibe made it a special place for my two-month backpacker stay. For $245 a week, it wasn’t bad.

I was assured the rooms were quiet, but they aren’t soundproof. Drunk, disrespectful people were yelling and fighting in the middle of the night and woke me up. This was the worst choice. Don’t book or stay here unless you want that happening.

Parking was a bit tight because it’s shared with the pub, though it was manageable. The place is busy and lively, with simple, comfortable rooms right behind the popular Hoey Moey pub. My room had the basics and I slept comfortably. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. It’s a short walk to the beach, and seems like a good budget option for backpackers or anyone wanting to stay near the ocean.

The location was the only good part. People staying there were horrible, left messes for others to clean, and stayed loud late into the night. There was chaos everywhere.
