The gourmet pizzas from 4.30 pm are top notch, whether you eat in or take them away. It’s a great old-fashioned local pub with real character, supportive of local music and, most refreshingly, pokies-free. The friendly bar staff have a decent rotating selection of tap beers, plus cider, wine, soft drinks and cocktails.

I spent four nights here recently and had nothing but a positive experience. The room was cozy and five-star clean, and the management and staff were lovely. Just good vibes all around. It’s top-notch pub accommodation in a great location near cafes, bars and supermarkets. Thanks for having me, guys :)

The rooms are what you’d expect in an old pub, and the beds are really comfortable, though more than one pillow would be good. The shared toilets were clean and worked well. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the pizzas are very, very good, with great topping choices and crispy bases. The locals seem to love the place, and they’re a varied, friendly bunch. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were small but quite clean. The shared bathrooms were okay, though there was no soap, and lots of shampoo and other things left around by other guests. Having only one key per room felt a bit odd for somewhere with a shared bathroom. There was no fridge or coffee in the room, and it was really loud until midnight. Check-in was nice and definitely not our worst experience, but at this price I wouldn’t stay here again.

Good value for the stay. The rooms were clean and the toilets were well maintained, and you can walk to Darby street and the beaches. The only possible drawback is the lack of air-conditioning during summer.
