Hosts were friendly and had plenty of useful local information. The room was clean and comfortable, and there's a really lovely communal kitchen. It's well placed for exploring the area. I'd recommend it.

Di and Andrew made us feel welcome and were so friendly. My room was clean and had everything I needed, with a super comfortable bed. The shared facilities are amazing. A great place to stay in Cooktown, highly recommend.

We've visited Cooktown twice before, but this was easily our most comfortable and enjoyable stay in town. Di & Andrew's warmth and generosity made the guest house even better, and their hospitality and local knowledge gave us an experience we'll remember. The place reflects their vision and skill. They built the whole guest house themselves, including the furniture in that incredible shared kitchen. Thanks, Di, Andrew and your beautiful Gecko Guest House. We can't recommend it highly enough.

The area was very clean and well kept, and close to everything. The hosts were lovely, knew the area well and helped us with ideas for places to go. Amazing hospitality. 100% recommend!

This was a first for us, staying in a guest house, and Jude and I really enjoyed it. Di and Andrew have an easy, comfortable way about them, and the house shares that feel. The queen bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quiet and peaceful, just what travellers need. The shared space is airy and generous, with a big kitchen and lounge. There's enough room for guests to find a quiet spot to themselves. The pool area is separate on a lower level. Perfect spot.
