The lamb shank was meant to be a simple order, but it took 40 minutes to arrive and was still cold.

The chicken parmies were huge, but the rissole meal looked small beside them. The kids’ chicken schnitzel was below average, with no seasoning at all. When I asked, the waitress said salt and pepper weren’t allowed because of allergies, which seemed crazy to me. There were only about 8 people in the restaurant, and at first they weren’t sure they could fit us, even though we were just 4 adults and 1 child. At the end we asked if we could take away a cheesecake dessert and were told no because the kitchen had closed 15 mins earlier. It seemed like the cheesecake would already have been made and in the fridge, so cutting a slice shouldn’t have been a big deal. Pretty disappointing, it felt like the restaurant just didn’t want our business.

It’s only 30 mins to Kalgoorlie, and I really enjoyed my 3 nights here. The rooms were very clean, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant food was good. A very nice stopover for a night or 2.

The restaurant food was excellent, and the place felt friendly and well run. The rooms were neat and tidy too. But $185 for a room is a bit much, it’s hideously overpriced.
