Josie is the heart of the Statesman Motor Inn. She’s the only staff member running the place, yet keeps everything going with tireless energy and real care. She went out of her way to help with every request and made me feel welcome and looked after. The property is a little run down, but she clearly takes pride in giving guests a good stay despite the challenges of the building. If I had a hotel, motel or any business in Corowa, she’d be the first person I’d want on my team. The Statesman is lucky to have her.

What a nightmare. The air-conditioning didn’t work, so we moved rooms, and the new room smelled of sewage. Reception wasn’t staffed, and the bathroom vanity was stained and revolting. We had nine rooms booked for a wedding, and one guest had to wait an hour in the heat because there was no key to get in. I’ll never stay here again. The location is the only reason I’d give it one star. The young cleaner was very helpful, though.

Everything was neat as a pin and perfectly clean. There’s a cute little pool and a clean, modern outdoor BBQ area. It’s set far enough back from the main road that there isn’t much traffic noise.

We had a large group staying at the Statesman Motor Inn recently, and the service was the best. Josie was an unbelievable host and took care of everything, even driving our disabled friend to and from places to eat. It’s the best place to stay for exploring Corowa and Rutherglen.

Corowa has some interesting history, and the Statesman was a comfortable base for exploring this engaging town. Our room was very clean and well appointed, with an extremely comfortable, warm bed. Thanks, Josie, for switching on the electric blanket before we arrived. There was plenty of hot water in the shower too. Very happy to recommend.
