Everyone in our family group, from 7 to 70 years old, loved the five nights we spent here and could easily have stayed five more. We made the most of the location and facilities: morning walks to the beautiful beach, ice cream from the nearby local ice creamery while relaxing in the hammock, pool swims and wildlife spotting. The afternoons brought family snooker tournaments, then dinners on the deck, stargazing and roasting marshmallows.

We spent 10 nights at Wait A While and had the best time. The house is huge, the beds are comfortable, and after our day trips we loved coming back to relax. There was lots to explore. Even in peak wet season we managed to do everything, and actually enjoyed the rain. Such a special place to switch off. Thanks again!

Mornings at wait-a-while started with a swim in the pool and a book, then we’d drive down the road for coffee. The well equipped kitchen made it easy to cook our meals. We enjoyed day trips to Port Douglas and Mossman, but returning to the forest each day was the best part of our awesome holiday. Highly recommend it, and wish we could have stayed longer.

After leaving the ferry across the Daintree River, you cross the ridge through the ancient Daintree rainforest to reach Cow Bay. Wait-a-While sits among dense forest in a tropical garden, with garden and rainforest views from the big windows and verandas. The Retreat runs on solar electricity, rain and bore water, and gas cooking. Cow Bay beach is a short walk away, and there’s also a pool for cooling off and refreshing yourself. There are plenty of drives, walking tracks and places to explore from Wait-a-While Retreat.
