Phillip Island Townhouse

We came with a group of women for the weekend and were very happy with the townhouses. The beds were comfortable, the area was quiet, and the living room was lovely and spacious. Everything was terrific, and it’s very close to both town and the beach 😊❤️

We were offered unit 4 at Philip island townhouses, and the house was in poor shape for $732 a night. Half the space was unusable, and there was no WiFi or smart TV. The most serious issue was substantial black mould on the ceiling near the kids’ bedroom, likely from a balcony leak. Both our kids have asthma and couldn’t sleep in that room because of the health risk. The master bedroom also showed signs of earlier water damage with an inadequate repair. The floors seemed dirty too, as the kids’ feet were black within an hour. The door to the front kids’ bedroom, which opens straight onto the driveway, couldn’t be deadlocked, raising a safety concern. I contacted North pier hotel, the managing body, right away and was told my concerns “would not fall on deaf ears”. They didn’t contact us on the second day. When I called, they said they’d call back that day, but four days after I first raised the matter, we still hadn’t heard from them. The kids will now sleep in the master bedroom with us, and my in-laws had to leave because the lower half of the home wasn’t liveable.

The kitchen has no hangers in the cupboards, so bring your own, and the TV isn’t smart. Even with portable internet, you’ll need an Android box and HDMI cable to watch Netflix. The electric oven is poor quality and takes ages, so bring a portable gas burner if you can. There’s no internet at all, and none of the rooms have door locks, including the main bedroom and toilets. Parking in the garage is very cramped with an SUV or family car like a Mazda CX9, so reversing in takes a lot of care. Ants gather quickly around dropped food, so watch young kids around sweets. The main bedroom also has uncovered high windows that make it really hard to sleep in if you like a longer lie-in on vacation.
