After we checked out, we were told part of our deposit had been kept because we'd left packaged food on the table instead of throwing it away. When I tried to discuss it, they put all the responsibility on Booking and wouldn't explain anything directly. The food was still neatly in its bag and hadn't spilled a drop, and we left no other rubbish. Are they trying to make money by refusing to do even basic cleaning between guests? This was the worst place I've ever stayed, and I mean that. It's a very basic, no-frills motel, yet the security deposit was almost as much as the room rate. I would have been fine with that if it had been clearly stated ahead of time, but none of the booking platforms mentioned it. It seemed laughable, though I was still willing to accept it. We booked a queen room but were put in one with an extra small bed. We were repeatedly warned not to touch that bed or we'd be charged an extra cleaning fee. I accepted the rule, even though it seemed unnecessary. I've stayed in plenty of hotels in different places and never had treatment like this. It ruined part of my trip and left me with a terrible experience. If you want to charge more, raise the room rate honestly instead of using tactics to squeeze extra money from guests. Future travelers, don't be fooled by the heavily filtered photos or the apparently cheap price. They want more than you pay upfront. There are plenty of better motels in town, so choose another one.

It's close to cafés, shops and the beach, and I'd happily stay again. The place was super clean and comfy, especially the bed, which was amazingly comfortable.

We stayed one night after seeing the penguin parade on Phillip Island, which is very nearby. The place was clean and tidy, with the basic facilities you need for a one-night stay.

There were plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, and we had enough storage and space for our bags. Everything we needed for eating, including cutlery, was provided. We spent one night in a room for four. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet at night.
