My plans changed, so I didn’t end up staying at Surfside Cudmirrah Beach. This is just about the friendly help I received when I had to cancel. Cathy was a pleasure to deal with and very understanding. She offered either a credit or refund and processed the cancellation straight away, without questions. If I’m back in Cudmirrah, I’d have no hesitation about staying at Surfside. They seem to make guests feel at home.
We first found this place when looking for a break with our newborn and dog, and we’ve been back four times since. The cabin has what we need, including a full kitchen, laundry, BBQ, courtyard for the pup and comfy beds. The beach is just a two-minute walk away. The owners are great, local shops have the basics, and it’s a beautiful spot to explore. It really feels like a home away from home. Love it!
The two-bedroom cabin was finished to a high standard, and I’d stay there again. The cooking setup was fine overall, with an outside BBQ, though a few more knives and another chopping board would help with food prep. I also liked having an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. The cabins with caravans attached looked interesting, but I can’t say how well they keep bugs out since I didn’t stay in one.
We love how relaxed and genuinely dog friendly Surfside feels. It’s a small, peaceful place, with direct access to Cudmirrah Beach and an easy walk to Swan Lake and a good coffee at Cuddy Café. The grounds are tidy, the facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained, and the staff are genuinely friendly. When we had a small problem with our van, they jumped in straight away and went out of their way to help. There are mostly permanent holiday shacks to wander past and have a sticky beak at, plus a handful of cabins and well-placed powered van sites. For a calm, simple beachside getaway in Cudmirrah, we’d absolutely recommend staying here. If you’re around Cudmirrah or Sussex Inlet, Washerwoman Beach is incredibly beautiful and dog friendly, with dogs allowed off leash.
Our campsite was right opposite the path to the beach, and the caravan slab came with manicured lawns around it and artificial grass on top, so we didn’t need our own mat. The amenities were spotless and smelled fresh. Seeing kangaroos was a real treat. What a beautiful park, highly recommend it and we’ll visit again.
