Daintree Ecolodge

Wildlife kept turning up right around the lodge. At breakfast we spotted a python, a tree snake, a forest dragon and tiny baby green tree frogs, with staff and guests all excitedly pointing things out together. The team’s enthusiasm made those moments even better. When we got a puncture, they were ready to help us sort it out, and their tours were excellent value too. Our room felt like a hidden tree house, spacious, spotless and beautifully designed, with a lovely rainforest view. The meals were generous, delicious and beautifully presented. Ben, Julia and the whole team made us feel almost like family. Rob has created a gem of a place, and we’ll be back and telling our friends about The Daintree ecolodge.

Maggie made both evenings at dinner special, with such careful attention and lovely service. We ate on the deck overlooking the large pond the first night, then booked private dining the next. The setting and experience were stunning. Bryce, one of the chefs, prepared some of the dishes for our six-course meal and even came out to serve dessert. The food was amazing. We came for a surprise getaway for our 20th Wedding Anniversary, before renewing our 20 years vowel renewal, and the communication before we arrived was amazing. Everything I asked for was handled effortlessly, from personalized check-in to the cultural and traditional massages with their native scents. The GM even greeted us at breakfast while making coffees and serving breakfast. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Daintree Eco Lodge for making our 26/11 to 28/11 stay feel so personal and unforgettable. We’ll definitely return and spread the word about this fabulous hideaway.

We only stopped for lunch after a crocodile tour, finding the place with a quick Google search, and it turned out to be a gem. The meal was easily the best of our holiday so far, and the service was outstanding. Sitting by the pond, surrounded by nature, made for a peaceful and special break. The short 750m return walk to the waterfall was a beautiful extra. We wished we’d stayed at this eco lodge for our time in the Daintree. Highly recommended.

It felt wonderfully luxurious to be in the middle of the rainforest, and the staff were kind and helpful with local information. The food was incredible, and the complimentary laundry was a nice bonus after hiking. I also tried the spa, which offers relaxing services. Best hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time.
