The shower gave us only about five minutes of hot water, and the room was damp enough that the bed smelled musty. Towels weren’t changed during our five-day stay. The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow, even though it was supposed to be high speed, and the restaurant was awful, with slow service and terrible food. The car park can be hard to get into, and the mini fridge defrosted on its own, leaving our food soggy. Never again. I’ll tell my travel agent not to book anyone else from my company here.

The location is good, and nights were fairly quiet. The rest of this old Mantra felt run down. There was a mouldy smell throughout, and the furniture and floors needed a proper clean. The showers ran out of hot water after 10 to 15 minutes, and the pool needed attention too.

If you’re Aboriginal, be careful about staying here. I was taken up and down in the lifts over and over. Management had been excellent until the night shift started, when suddenly my bank card wouldn’t work. The female manager arranged for security to remove me without my luggage or personal belongings. My phone and charger were still in my suitcase in the lobby, so when I asked how I could even call an Uber, security laughed, voided my guest card and told me to walk. I’d advise Indigenous or Islander people to avoid this place, and highly recommend the traditionally Owned hotel in Palmerston. Permanent residence will antagonise you until you reach breaking point. Apart from all that, I had no complaints. True God, you mob.

I stayed five nights and my room wasn’t serviced at all. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned, towels weren’t replaced, and toiletries were limited to shampoo and soap, with no shower cap or anything else. The place is very dated and service wasn’t great. There’s a bad smell in the hallways, the gym equipment needs servicing, and there were no towels, TV or radio in the gym. Restaurant service was very slow and breakfast was disappointing. Extremely basic and poorly maintained.
