The courtyard is pretty, but opening and shutting the gate is a pain. At $300 a night, I expected more attention to detail. The fan on the wood heater is super noisy, the bath tap is loose, and the toilet brush has no handle. Some shelves needed dusting, and the bedside tables are too small. Wall-mounted lamps would free up space, especially since there are no ceiling lights, just a couple of lamp shades. The kitchen has one bin for everything, and a separate recycling bin would be nice too. We chose the Chestnut for two nights because it has a secure backyard for our dog. She found a chicken drumstick someone had tossed into the garden. Luckily, I caught her before she ate it all.

I’ve stayed many times in this beautifully secluded apartment. The garden is a delight and so relaxing, even though you’re right in town and close to the Convent and my favorite restaurants, "Kadota" and Bar Merenda. Both offer extraordinary dining experiences.

We booked the Chestnut Maple for a little weekend getaway and weren’t disappointed. The bedrooms were clean, the garden was beautifully maintained, and I loved the artwork. What a lovely cozy place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a little getaway.
