Novotel Devonport

The view from the king room balcony was great, and we watched the boat come in. The room was clean and tidy with that new hotel feel, and the layout was what you'd expect. Front desk service was satisfactory, though not impressive, and parking options were minimal. The bed and pillows were very soft, with only one pillow size available. I'm a stomach sleeper, so thinner pillows suit me better. The curtain had a small stain and was very heavy to move, as was the sliding door. The timber keycards don't seem ideal, since I imagine one could snap if you sat on it in a back pocket. The shower pressure was good, but switching between the rain head and handheld was difficult and made a loud clunk, as did turning it off. Breakfast buffet was okay, though I'd avoid the bacon and eggs: the middle bacon was tough and overcooked, and the eggs tasted flavourless and milky. I'd give it 6/10. It's a hotel, and not as flash as they make it out to be. Hopefully they maintain the new place well so it stays that way for a long time.

The Executive Suite had everything we needed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a lovely two-night stay at the Novotel Devonport, with a river view and a perfect spot on the balcony to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks. All the hotel and restaurant staff gave exceptional service. It's centrally located and has to be one of the best hotels we've stayed at, definitely the best on our recent Tasmania travels. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

The ocean view made our stay especially relaxing, and the warm, inviting feel made it easy to unwind. Our room was clean, the beds cosy, and everything felt comfortable for a family stay. Free on-site parking for guests would make it more convenient. We had a really pleasant stay at Novotel Devonport.

Our only regret is that we booked just one night while touring Tassie. The room was brilliant, clean and comfortable, with a lovely private balcony and views. Shops and restaurants were an easy walk away. The staff were lovely and made check-in and check-out simple, helped with our bags, and parked our car overnight. We loved the Novotel in Devonport and will definitely come back. I'd recommend it to anyone staying there.
