Homestead Caravan Park

We paid $40 a night for two people on a powered slab with an ensuite, which is great value, especially since that’s often what an unpowered grass site costs in this part of Queensland. The ensuites were clean, and the park was relaxed and quiet even on New Year's Eve. The manager was friendly. I’d guess there are quite a few permanent residents, if that matters to other travellers, though that’s pretty normal these days. There’s a pool, games room, and a very basic camp kitchen. No Wi-Fi, but mobile reception worked. The IGA supermarket is a short drive away. The park is a little run down, so keep your expectations in line with the price. I’d certainly stay again if I passed through, for the convenience of a powered ensuite at that rate.

The cabin was lovely and accommodating, and the furniture was reasonable. The shower pressure was okay, too. But it needed a proper scrub, especially the bathroom fixtures. There was hair in the shower and a couple of long black hairs on the bed sheets, even though I'm blonde. We weren’t properly told about the changed entrance and got lost. More coffee options would help, and having no milk over the weekend made things a little difficult. The bedroom also had two different light colours, which was frustrating. I’d recommend the place, but not to anyone with real OCD.

The cabin was nice and clean. They have both single rooms and family rooms.

We love this park and will definitely stay again. It's on the outskirts of Nanango, and this was our second visit. It's an older place, dated by modern standards, but has a really relaxed feel. The amenities are adequate, well maintained, and cleaned regularly. The value was excellent. Just be aware the owners only accept cash, with no EFT payments. That wasn't a problem for us.
