Nanango Fitzroy Motel

The room smelled awful, and there were cobwebs in the bathroom. We waited ages for someone to come to reception so we could check in. The pool was completely uncared for, so we couldn't swim, and bushes blocking the gate made it hard to open. Parking was very tight with a larger vehicle. The bathroom windows had no fly screens and faced a public access lane, which felt like a security issue. Three days later they phoned to say I hadn't paid. I gave them my receipt number, they apologised quickly, then hung up. I had to give a one-star rating to post this. I don't recommend staying there.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great. I spent a week at the Nanango Fitzroy Motel and couldn’t have been happier. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing visit. Great value for a short stay or a longer one. Highly recommend!

My daughter asked to move rooms after being checked in with her two young children, because their room smelled as if someone had peed all over the carpet. We also had no hot water on our first night. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The reception was absolutely filthy, with built-up dirt and grease you could smell, and floors that looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The rooms smelled musty. The toilet was filthy and the bathroom didn't look properly cleaned for months. The tan towels were stained and ratty, with no bath mat or complimentary toiletries. Bins outside the rooms were overflowing, and weeds had completely overgrown the gardens, despite some nice plants being there. This motel needs a complete spring clean. I'm extremely unhappy with what we were charged for what we got. Very disappointing all round.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years, but my three-night stay on 22, 23, and 24 August 2025 was very disappointing. The room wasn't ready at 2 pm when I checked in, and there was no soap in the shower dispenser. There was no hot water on the second or third night. Ice had frozen in the freezer and stopped the fridge door from shutting. Rubbish was lying around the grounds, and the garden looked like it hadn't been tended for a long time.
