I'm only commenting on the food. We waited over an hour just for garlic bread, then another 20-30 minutes at least for the mains. The place wasn't that busy, and there was no explanation or warning about the delay. The chicken schnitzel was like something from a school canteen, processed with a firm, cheap crumb. At $27.00, it was well overpriced. Based on this experience, we won't be back. Give other options a go.
We had lunch at this lovely old pub. The cutlets were delicious and a decent size, and the staff were friendly. I'd go again.
After we'd waited over an hour and a half for lunch, we were told we could wait longer or get a refund. There was no apology or explanation, and we only found out after asking about our order. Very disappointing! Luckily, there were pies left up the road, which never disappoint.
We had dinner here this evening. The food wasn't enjoyable, and the salad was certainly different. My husband's cutlets were overdone. Service was okay.
The food is delicious, cheap, and served in big portions. For 18 bucks, I got three fat sausages, onion gravy, a big serving of mashed potato and steamed vegies. It's a great old-style pub building, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The accommodation and bar areas are wonderfully presented.
