Discovery Parks - Lake Hume, Victoria

Dani is fabulous and you can tell she loves running the craft activities. There were at least 30-50 kids and adults joining in, and it was the best craft program we’ve seen. Rochelle was also super friendly and enthusiastic. There’s loads for children to do here, making it a great family getaway. This park has it all.

The camp kitchen was just right, and the park is kept in great shape. We stayed three days on a powered site with an ensuite and it was perfect. Even though we got there just before closing at 4.30, Rachelle was happy to let us look around and choose our own site. The staff were all friendly and good at their jobs. We’d happily recommend the park and plan to return for a longer stay.

The cabins were clean and the staff were friendly. There are pools and lots of activities, and it’s only about 10 minutes from the shops while still feeling away from town. Clean and tidy, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We came from Sydney for a holiday in Albury-Wodonga, but my dad and I still had work to do, so we needed internet. We’d stayed at both NSW and VIC Discovery Parks - Lake Hume before. At the NSW park we had no phone signal, while at the VIC park we could at least use our own mobile data. This time we intended to stay at the VIC Discovery Park, so I called a day ahead and asked which cabin might have stronger phone or internet reception. The woman said it was hard to tell and couldn’t be guaranteed. We decided to drive over and test the signal ourselves. Two young room attendants were kind and helpful. They showed us the rooms, pointed out an area with better reception, and suggested a cabin, then told us to ask reception whether it was available. At reception, the receptionist and booking assistant was extremely disrespectful and didn’t seem genuinely interested in helping us. I don’t know if she treats every customer that way. We’d been choosing Discovery Parks because they were affordable, but today was another reminder that you get what you pay for. We left and stayed at an Airbnb instead. It cost twice as much, but we couldn’t have been happier. The receptionist and booking assistant is the face of the business, and I’m sure management understands how important it is to have the right people in the right roles. After this bad experience, we won’t stay at this park again. I hope other customers don’t have the same experience in future.
