We've now stayed twice in the original managers residence, which sleeps six and worked really well for our family. It would suit three couples too. There's a large, well-stocked kitchen with plenty of cutlery, crockery, glassware and platters, plus everything needed for cooking, including an airfryer and slowcooker. We didn't use those, but we did use the BBQ. The outdoor area is private, the linen is good quality, and everything was beautifully clean. There are books to browse as well. Couldn't fault it, and we'll definitely return. It's an older, solidly built motel with modern furnishings, a pretty garden and roses that were all blooming on our last visit. You can walk to the shops, park, pool and pondage, and Pixies at Billabong is great for live music.

We spent a few nights in Room 5. It was quiet, decent, and had everything we needed, with a comfortable bed. The bird seed was a thoughtful extra and feeding them was fun. The towels and linen were better than we expected, and booking was easy. The remote staff were really friendly. Only small gripe: the freezer could have used defrosting, though we didn't need it.

Feeding the birds in the backyard was a highlight, with grain supplied for them. The housekeepers were cooperative, and the price was very reasonable. It's an affordable place to stay near Lake Eildon, about 50 metres from the police station and a three-minute walk from the main shopping strip for groceries and food. Check-in and checkout were easy, the heating and cooling worked very well, and the beds were cosy and warm. Towels and linen are provided. Supplies are limited, though. There wasn't much toilet paper and no facial tissues, and it wasn't easy to reach anyone to ask for more. The shared laundry was locked when we arrived at night, so we couldn't use it. It only has one washer, probably coin-operated, and it wasn't clean. We'd still stay again just to feed the birds. Recommended.

There was no heat in the main room, and the bedroom heater only warmed that room. We found lollies under the shelving, and this time there were dog droppings across the grass where our family used to enjoy feeding the birds. We used to stay here every six months, and David and Di were amazing hosts. It's sad to see the motel like this.

We had a comfortable stay, with a lovely view across the lawn and birds in the trees. Arriving to find the heater already on was much appreciated in three-degree weather and thick fog. The owner gave us helpful tips for finding dinner and groceries, and there was a friendly cat around. We'd stay again.
