The heater kept cutting out, and it was too small for the room, so we were left freezing. The spa also needed attention: sand and grime were visible, the jets didn’t work properly, and the lights wouldn’t come on. Inside, the bed sagged in the middle and was uncomfortable, the TV was very small, and the bedside tables were wobbly and cramped. There was just one roll of toilet paper, the hand wash dispenser was faulty, and the supplied torch was tiny, more like a child’s toy. The zippers were broken and difficult to use, and a dog barked all night. Even the outdoor furniture lacked care in its presentation. My partner had booked three nights as a surprise birthday present, but for the price, neither of us felt the stay met expectations. The place needs major maintenance and updating. ☹️

The road was right beside our tent, so the noise was hard to miss. We did enjoy the stay, but the tent next door happened to be empty, which was the only reason we had any extra privacy. The spa looked cloudy when the bubbles were on, with dirt visible, and several functions didn’t work. It also felt very outdated. Internet was dismal, and there was no DVD player despite it being advertised. At the price, it didn’t feel like the romantic, private retreat we expected, so we won’t be returning.

We spent our anniversary here, and even in a moonboot it turned into a perfect weekend. The tent and spa were just right, and I was happy with what we paid. I’d go back to Tuckers retreat and recommend it. We couldn’t explore much because of the moonboot, but there was plenty to enjoy at the tent: a big soft bed with heated sheets, a fan, a basic kitchen with what we needed, and a rather fancy BBQ. We had dinner by the firepit and looked at the stars. The instructions and communication were clear, and there were useful little things around, including a magnetic torch. The sounds of nature at dusk and dawn were lovely. It got hot in the tent during the day, though the balcony was pleasant, and at night it was just right for cuddling. There’s no air-conditioning, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The view was gorgeous, and the spa was hot, clean, and big. The place was very clean too. A gorgeous old brown dog, probably from the other neighbours, came over to the BBQ area and made our holiday even better. A plugged-in deterrent kept animals away from the tent. The little town was close for food and coffee, and there was a jar of dragon fruit jam in our tent. I would’ve bought some if I could! The balcony’s white curtains didn’t fully cover it, and sometimes I wanted more privacy, although I never saw anyone from there. We could occasionally hear the local neighbours a little, but to be clear, not the other tent. I actually liked the dog, and it added to the holiday for us.

We loved the BBQ area and spa, and spending time by the bonfire was lovely. The venue was well looked after, with birdsong and a nice view from the tent in the morning. It was such a relaxing change of pace, with fresh air and a beautiful setup. We’re grateful for the hosts’ consideration and generosity, which helped make the visit so restful. We absolutely loved the whole stay and would definitely like to come back for a break from work. If you want a different kind of stay with a comfortable setup, I’d recommend Tuckers Retreat.

We booked two nights for our first wedding anniversary after my wife told me about the place. It’s a beautiful getaway, and the glamping tent and spa are lovely. The owners seem to understand what people would enjoy, and it has everything you’d need. Awesome escape.
