Margaret River Retreat

We stayed in one of the glamping tents with family from 26/01/23 to 28/01/23, and loved the whole experience. The tent facilities were great, as were the shared ones, all looked after by Nick, Sonia and family. They’ve created and maintained a beautiful retreat away from city life, and we’d happily come back next time we’re at Margaret River. We’ll recommend it to people we know, too. And those friendly Kangaroos / Wallabies nearby were a lovely bonus 😍😇 Thanks for having us, you guys are awesome.

Getting everyone settled in went smoothly thanks to the new venue manager, and we enjoyed our stay. The venue is near the main road, but it’s quiet and convenient for getting around. We ran a lovely retreat here, mostly using the main housing. Two clients stayed in the glamping tents and really enjoyed them. Breakfast was delicious, especially given our group was gluten-free and vegetarian, with two vegans.

The Barn had plenty of room for our family of four over Easter weekend, and we’d happily come back. We had a full kitchen with an oven, microwave, and full-size fridge/freezer, plus a washing machine in the shower room for the kids’ muddy clothes. The main bedroom had a very comfortable king bed looking out to the back paddock. The second bedroom had two queen beds and faced the central facilities. We used the indoor dining table and ate outside by the BBQ as well. Even though the region was packed with tourists, the site felt peaceful. It’s a short drive south of Witchcliffe. There are no TVs, so we brought a portable mini projector and watched a movie with the kids each evening in the roomy sitting area. The on-site cafe was a bonus. We got coffee and breakfast there each morning, and the coffee was excellent. The team also arranged an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday. It was lovely seeing the children help each other look and share their eggs. With so many holiday rentals in the region, we appreciated the old school hospitality and the focus on sustainability.

Glamping made camping easy, which was just right with two small children. They had the time of their lives waking to kangaroos outside the tent and feeding cucumber to the skinks. The tent was thoughtfully set up, even with sleeping bags provided for the kids, and the amenities were clean and nicely presented. We felt very welcome and will come back next time we’re nearby.
