Silkari The Charrington At Chatswood

This historically restored bed and breakfast is beautiful and feels luxurious. The rooms are compact but have what you need, and the staff are great. It's a short walk to Chatswood shops and the Metro line into Sydney. I'd stay again.

The old British Victorian architecture and fittings really made our trip. The hotel is clean, modern, quiet and friendly, and the Victorian style is wonderful. They also include thoughtful extras: Nespresso pods in the rooms, a nice breakfast with toast, cereal, coffee, fruit, croissants and yogurts, and free use of the washing machine and tumble dryer. The neighbourhood is lovely, and the staff are lovely too. You won't be disappointed, and it adds so much to a Sydney trip. I only wish I could live in a building like this.

We had a really enjoyable stay and will return on our next Sydney trip. Management were very helpful and let us check out late because our flight wasn't until late afternoon. The restored old building is beautiful, especially its leaded-light windows, and the balcony was a lovely spot to watch birds in the trees next door. We arrived late, but clear instructions for the door codes made getting in easy. Breakfast was a well-stocked buffet with cereal, toast, fruit, juices and an excellent coffee machine. Daily room service was almost more than we needed, since towels don't have to be changed every day, but having the bin emptied and coffee and tea topped up was much appreciated.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, charming and comfortable, especially the very comfy bed. The service was excellent, and the after-hours codes made check-in easy. The continental breakfast was really good too.
