The Vineyard staff were so warm and helpful at our dinner celebration, even bringing out dessert with a candle for the birthday girl. The rooms were clean, tidy and nicely presented. The fridge did have a small issue and froze everything, but otherwise the rooms were excellent. We’ll come back.

We booked for an overnight stop with the family on the way to qld, but the room didn’t look like the photos. Staying in the motel by the pub meant little sleep. It sounded as if a nightclub two rooms away went on until 5:00am, and there were bikes and cars doing burnouts all night. I get the impression the vineyard may be a local hoon spot. The restaurant food was amazing and I’d definitely eat there again. The motel itself might suit someone planning to get smashed at the pub and needing a bed, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you need sleep or have a small family.

The Vinyards food was fantastic, and coffee from Tommy's Cafe at 6am was a lifesaver. That was about the only bright spot in an overnight stop on our drive from Victoria to QLD. The room was average and didn’t resemble any of the photos. The carpet was quite dirty, the benches dusty, and the bathroom looked clean until you looked up. We were next to the bottle shop/pub, with awful noise. I think we managed just two or three hours of sleep altogether, and things really picked up around 3am. Cars kept hooning past and doing burnouts, like a warm-up for summernats. When the party crowd woke our 11 month old by kicking things into sixth gear, I was extremely unimpressed. We’d planned to book again on the way home, but after that night we won’t be returning.

On this visit, I was travelling solo with my dog and wanted takeaway. Bar staff said I could order at the bar with my dog, but when I went to collect it, they told me I had to go into the restaurant. I couldn’t take my dog in, and they hadn’t arranged for anyone to bring it out. I was left wondering how I’d get my food until a supervisor happened to walk past, heard what was going on and collected it for me. My room backed onto the outdoor eating area. Drunks walked past and hoons were in the car park until 4am, leaving me with no sleep before competing in sport the next day. I’d stayed before and was charged dog cleaning fees; three months later, the building had been demolished, and nobody had told me. I won’t stay again. Next time I’ll drive farther for dog-friendly accommodation.
