The strong chemical smell in Room 29 was the main problem for me. I checked in around 8:30 pm on Saturday and found a room with four beds, enough for six or seven people, even though I’d booked for one. It smelled heavily of something like Glen 20 or air freshener, and there was no window or proper ventilation. Nearby places were all booked, so I had to stay. I woke with a blocked nose and difficulty breathing, which I believe was due to the smell. I’d strongly suggest the owners visit Room 29 after dark to experience what guests are dealing with.

Great value for the price, and you couldn’t ask for a more convenient location. It’s right in the centre, with restaurants, a bakery and the beach all reachable without a car. There’s parking for each room, and room service brought fresh towels daily. Everything was perfect.

We stayed here as a family of four on the way back from Kingscliff. The rooms were really big, with an extra walk-in closet leading into the bathroom, and the pool and seating area were nice, though the water was ice cold. The cleaners were lovely. Shops and the beach are only a few minutes’ drive away. This place is actually really good for a longer stay, and I could have stayed longer if I’d needed to.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, and it’s been consistently good. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the central Forster location makes it easy to get around on foot. I’ll be back!

We stayed Friday and Saturday, then left on Sunday. We were very happy with the service and the room, number 12. There were three adults and three kids, and the kids loved the pool. The owners were lovely. We’ll definitely come back.
