The lake is right behind the park, and with it come loads of relentless mozzies. They nearly ruined our stay, though I can't blame the park for that. We also found the games room old and outdated, and it could use a revamp. The park is basic and budget friendly, quiet and good for young kids, with two pool areas including a kids' pool. The camp kitchen has an oven, microwave, jug and fridge. It's a short walk to MacDonald's and Forster Mall, where there are stores like Kmart, Cotton On, Chemist, Coles and Supercheap, plus other essentials. Washing machines and dryers cost $4 each per wash or dry. It's pet friendly and works for kids, caravans, camping and cabins, but don't expect extras. This was our second stay, and I'd come again for a relaxing outdoor break as long as I expected the basics.

We paid $500 for three nights, and it wasn't worth it. The cabin was filthy, and we had to say we needed to sweep before leaving. The receptionist replied that it was fine because they had cleaners, but the cabin hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, so it probably hadn't been done. There were no sheets or towels unless you brought your own or paid extra, and the kitchen only had a pan, pot, jug and toaster, with no microwave-safe bowls. The pools were a bit murky, but the kids liked them, which was the main thing. The island and part of the road were blocked off. We absolutely wouldn't stay again.

Someone took our clothes from the line while we were doing laundry, and it left us feeling on edge for the rest of our stay. There was no CCTV to help get them back. I wouldn't recommend staying here. If you do, don't leave clothes hanging out and keep your car locked at all times.

The midges were intense because the campground is next to a creek, so bring plenty of Deet and coils. Staff were friendly, and the facilities were older but worked fine. There are two pools. The campground itself was okay, with a mix of dirt and grass sites, but ours wasn't level and was difficult to set up on.

Permanent residents seemed not to follow the rules, with parties going from 1am to 4am. The room was unclean and badly in need of an upgrade, and the grounds were run down and poorly kept. Please don't stay here.
