The photos must have been taken by a talented photographer. In person, it feels like a fairly ordinary motel that’s maintained okay, though some parking spaces and one staircase are reserved for another business. The room was as clean as the other places I stay overnight, but I still got the sense the property has seen better days. Maybe it was the neighbours’ backyard I saw from the top of the stairs.

We arrived late and the upstairs room was a bit of a trek, especially at that hour. There’s plenty of parking, and the room was decent, clean and reasonably spacious, with a sofa couch. The late check-in was well organised: they sent a code and I collected my key card from a safe. It’s near the city centre. I don’t know the area well enough to say how safe it is. Our room faced the road, so we could hear some traffic.

The room was clean, fresh-smelling and laid out beautifully. I’m so pleased with the service. After a storm left my elderly parents without power, and with no power expected for several days, I contacted the manager after 6 pm, outside business hours. He made it easy to get them settled. When he noticed their walking sticks, he moved them to a downstairs room, then called me to check Mum and Dad were okay. He also said either of them or I could get in touch if they needed anything. A lovely motel, and the manager was a perfect gentleman.

The location was excellent, but I found the service odd, to say the least. We filled out breakfast orders, yet nobody was in the office whenever we went to hand them in. I was also surprised to find the bed base was two old bases stacked together with their legs cut off. The bathroom ceiling had mould, which I wasn’t impressed by.
