Belmercer Motel

I stayed for six nights and was impressed by how clean everything was. The bathroom was spotless, easily one of the cleanest I’ve seen. There was onsite parking and no traffic noise, and the location worked well for me. The room smelled fresh when I walked in and had lots of space, modern decor, crisp white sheets, plenty of pillows and a comfortable mattress. It also came with a microwave, TV, Foxtel and a good-sized fridge. The receptionist who greeted me was incredibly friendly and gave me a good feeling about the booking. I was glad there was an elevator to reach my floor, so I didn’t have to carry my suitcase upstairs. I’d recommend it to anyone after a well-priced motel.

The staff were really helpful and nice, and there are a few good restaurants right outside. It’s very close to Geelong train station, which made it a handy place for a night. You can hear some noise from the highway and rail line at night, but it didn’t disrupt my sleep.

The staff are lovely, and the rooms are tidy, clean and nice. There’s a fair view of the ocean too. Parking inside the property is limited, though there are a few curbside spaces. A perfect spot for a short stay.

The good points were that it was extremely clean, close to the waterfront and had off-street parking. The rest made me eager to leave. The room swung between cold and stiflingly hot, with a very noisy fan and another loud automatic fan in the bathroom. No electric blankets, and just one spare blanket for a two-bed room. There was random thumping during the night too. The kettle and microwave seemed as cheap as possible and both were dodgy, while the tiny TV didn’t work properly. It was overpriced for what felt like a one- or two-star motel.
